A great local place with lots of character! Nice tap selection, cheesy pepperoni pizza, yummy soupy sandwich, & the server (who also handled the bar) was very friendly. Definitely not a tourist trap & well worth a visit!
When we stepped in, we weren't sure what kind of place we'd found but we're thoroughly impressed with the place. Pizza was excellent and the waitress was very personable. Over all, excellent for a casual meal.
Absolutely tremendous. We had 6 people at our table, one compliment after another. Whole Belly Clams, possibly the best I ever had!! Bolognese like being in the North end of Boston. Dave, I believe the owner, was very hospitable and welcoming.
The Hilltop is your basic blue collar neighborhood watering hole that serves good food. Nothing fancy. Stopped in for a quick bite with the wife. Started with a plate of wings. We split the sauces and had both the gin and classic buffalo. Both were spicy and hit the spot. Two thumbs up. For an entree, I had the whole belly clams from the specials board. They were cooked to perfection. For $18.95 they gave me a plate full that I could barely finish. My wife had the baked scallop casserole dish that was loaded with local sea scallops. The were also baked just right and not over done. The Hilltop is a great place for a no frills but great food meal. We will be back. This is one of Westerly's hidden gems that have yet to be raided by tourists.
Omg! If you remember and loved Roxy's, Hilltop is for you...order the pizza crispy though to get that little bit of burned edges; otherwise, it's sometimes too cheesy (like that's a bad thing?) resulting in a bit droopy pizza. Had two pizzas cooked a little crispy and BOTH were soooo flavorful! Worth the calories I consumed as I think I ate like 5 pieces...and craved it again the entire next day.
